Who We Support
Specialist residential care for autistic adults with high support needs, built on trust, structure, and person-centred support.
Tailored Support for Every Individual
At Fairmont Residential, we support autistic adults with high support needs, including those with learning disabilities, limited or no speech, and complex behaviours. Our homes are calm, structured spaces where individuals feel safe, understood, and able to flourish at their own pace.
We also work closely with families, commissioners, and professionals to ensure every person receives care that’s compassionate, consistent, and tailored to their strengths, preferences, and routines.
Autistic Adults with High Support Needs
Fairmont specialises in supporting autistic people who need a high level of daily support. Many of the people we care for speak few or no words, experience sensory processing differences, or display behaviours that communicate distress or need.
Our environments are low-arousal and highly structured, designed to offer clarity, predictability, and emotional safety. We focus on supporting each person to develop independent living skills, build trusted relationships, and feel confident and included, with family involvement at every step.
Supporting Transitions and Life Stages
We know that transitions can be challenging, whether someone is leaving residential school, moving from hospital, or coming from a family home. That’s why we work closely with families and professionals to make these changes feel manageable, respectful, and well-supported.
At Fairmont, we plan carefully, communicate openly, and move at a pace that’s right for the person. Our goal is always to provide long-term, stable support where individuals can grow, develop new routines, and participate in life on their terms.
Always Centred Around the Person
Every person we support has a tailored care plan built around their needs, preferences, and communication style. These plans are co-produced with input from families, professionals, and the individual wherever possible.
Support is shaped using person-centred planning, structured routines, and techniques like Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). We don’t believe in “fixing” people, we believe in empowering them. With consistency, empathy, and specialist knowledge, we help each individual live with greater independence, confidence, and joy.
