Fairmont Residential is the leading specialist residential care provider to adults with Autism, learning disabilities and behaviours of concern in our home in Brierley Hill. In our most recent inspection CQC rated us ‘OUTSTANDING.
Fairmont is dedicated to ongoing research & development. Our observational methods of gathering data in conjunction with in-depth analysis enables us to create highly individual Positive Behaviour Plans allowing our service users to reach their full potential.
We provide a person-centred approach for each individual. As well as having opportunities to live in a small group home, or a bespoke single home, all of our service users have fully personalised daily plans ensuring they can be offered choice and support to pursue their own goals and live active and fulfilling lives.
As well as listening to what is important to our service users, we encourage involvement from families and advocates, recognising they are the enduring people in the lives of the young people we care for. We have a firm commitment to high quality care and deliver this by recruiting the right management and senior team and by continuous investment in staff supervision, training and development.
About the role
Are you passionate about helping people and wish to make a difference in people’s lives? If so, we would love to hear from you! We are seeking Autism Practitioners to join our great business, based at our Kidderminster, Kinver, and Stourbridge sites.
Don’t have transport? No problem! Our Kidderminster site is just a 5-minute walk from Kidderminster train station. No experience? No problem! We provide on the job training and development.
We are looking for someone who’s enthusiasm and passion for this role is infectious and who takes great pride in seeing the growth and development of our service user’s day to day, by providing an empathetic and joyful experience at all times.
Due to the nature of work and the service users we work with, we follow strict safer recruitment practices to include references, DBS and behaviour interviews coupled with competency CV and qualification checks. All offers of employment are subject to an enhanced DBS upon successful employment.

Key Duties
- To develop trusting and supportive relationships with the service users and families, to support them to achieve goals and outcomes to encourage them to participate fully in community life
- To assist in the delivery of life skills day to day, as part of the plan, and contribute to and support each individual plan
- Administer medication to service users
- Keep all necessary daily logs, and other documentation up to date at all times
- Work collaboratively as a team
- Assist service users with personal care consistent with their care plan such astoileting and feeding, whilst promoting independence, where required.
- Ensure that health, hygiene, and safety regulations are followed at all times.
- To support the person you are working with in the home and to access the community
- Providing guidance and support for domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
- Support service users in accessing activities such as cycling, walking, swimming. You will need to be physically able to adequately support.
- Working closely with vulnerable adults, staff, families, and other relevant professionals
- Following service users care plans closely and in line with CQC regulations
- Complete all relevant training that is appropriate for your job role to ensure the best support for the service users, and to encourage personal
development. - Always implement and respond to our Safeguarding policy and guidance, raising any safeguarding concerns promptly and correctly
- To attend regular team meetings and regular support and supervision sessions with management, to ensure the priorities and values of Fairmont Residential are continuously met.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and good quality written records, in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures and within timescales given.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
- Level 2 English or equivalent
- Care certificate (Desirable)
- MAPA (Desirable)
- First Aid certificate (Desirable)
Experience:
- Experience of working within a care setting (Desirable)
- Experience of working with or having a great understanding of Autism (extremely desirable)
